Solidstate Controls (ASC) has been supplying battery chargers, inverters,
rectifiers, transformers, low voltage distribution panels and switchgear
to the nuclear power industry around the world for nearly 40 years.
Due to the critical nature of these applications, ASC has designed
most of this equipment for a 40-year design life. To insure that equipment
meets this requirement, each unit is subjected to environmental qualification,
aging analysis, and testing in accordance with applicable IEEE and
IEC standards.
In 1994, ASC made a strategic decision that even further exemplified our commitment to this industry. Understanding that Nuclear Class 1E clients require an additional level of management and control beyond that of other industrial clients, a new business unit was formed, known as the Nuclear Engineering Team (NET). The NET has dedicated itself to providing power and client service solutions to the nuclear power industry. To that end, the NET has developed client services that can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of our nuclear clients, as well as the stringent requirements of the industry. We maintain both a 10CFR50, Appendix B, (including 10CFR21) QA program, in addition to being ISO 9001 certified.
